Recommendation for a Ball Mount to Fit a Hitch on a 2014 Ford Edge
Question:
First, I find your install video a huge help. Wasnt sure I could self-install. Your video is so detailed, I decided to give it a try. Im installing a trailer hitch to serve to purposes. Most of the time Ill be hauling 2- 3 adults bikes. On rare occasions ,when I do home improvement, I may need to haul building materials from my local improvement stores and/or landscaping store. I m purchasing from your company the Draw-tite 75992 hitch,Tekonsha 118515 trailer wiring and the Thule Pro post 4 bike rank TH934XTR. Question: What type of ball mount should I use? Not sure I totally understand the various type. In the near future, I plan to purchase a small utility trailer. Any help is appreciated...

For the Draw-Tite hitch, # 75992, that will fit your 2014 Ford Edge, I recommend the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 2-3/4" Rise or 4" Drop - 7,500 lbs, # 989892.
This ball mount kit will include a ball mount that will fit the 2 inch receiver opening on the Draw-Tite hitch. The ball mount will provide 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop.
The kit will include a 2 inch trailer ball with a 7,500 lbs gross towing weight capacity and an 1-7/8 inch ball with a 2,000 lbs gross towing weight capacity.
You may need a ball mount with a different rise of drop. In this case I have attached an article that will explain how to measure your vehicle's trailer hitch and your trailer's coupler to find the correct rise or drop needed for your ball mount.
