You cannot install the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide Detector # AT32703 on the ceiling but you can install it on a wall near the ceiling.

Carbon monoxide, or CO, is slightly lighter than air and so it naturally tends to diffuse throughout an enclosed space in a fairly even distribution. It does not tend to sit near floor level the way that a heavier gas like propane vapors would, nor does it rise right up to ceiling height the way that a lighter-than-air gas would.

This unit can be placed either on a table or shelf using the built-in picture-frame-style stand or wall-mounted.
