The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57212 that are installed on your 2006 Ford F-250 is compatible only with the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP30035. This rail kit is confirmed to fit your truck and will provide industry-standard, above-bed base rails for the 5th wheel hitch you choose.
For a 5th wheel hitch, I recommend looking at the Curt A16 # C16521. This is a very nice hitch that will provide 12 inches of travel for making sharp turns with your short bed truck and a gross towing weight capacity of 16,000 pounds. It also features interlocking jaws for a secure connection with your trailer's king-pin. I have attached a video demonstration on this hitch for you to check out.
Also, if you do not have one already, I recommend adding a 5th Wheel Wiring Harness like Bargman # 50-97-410. Once installed, this will provide a 7-Way connector in the bed of your truck for easy hookup with your trailer.
