Bike Rack Recommendation for Chevy Volt to Carry E-Bike Plus 25 lb Bicycle

Question:

I need help picking out a bike rack. We have 1 1/4 OEM hitch on a Chevy Volt that has a 110 pound capacity. We have an electric bike that weighs 55 pounds. We would like to carry 2 bikes if possible - my other bike weighs 25 pounds. But I could also get a fold up and put it in the trunk. Can you please make a recommendation?

Best solution I have for you is the Saris SuperClamp EX part # SA4025F. Not too many racks are rated for use with the heavier E-bikes but this rack has a 60 lb per bike capacity so it would work great with yours.

What really helps though is that this rack only weighs 35 lbs which is incredibly lightweight. So the weight of this rack plus your e-bike gives you 90 lbs total. That means you have exactly 20 lbs left of your 110 hitch capacity so this would be perfect.
