Brake Controller Recommendation that Does Not Require Wiring to Vehicle Stoplight Circuit

do all brake controlers have to be hooked into the brake pedal switch to be activated? other than hitch mounted.

The only style of brake controller that doesn't need to tap into the vehicle wire to find the stoplight circuit is the RF controller part # TK94FR. It actually installs on the trailer and uses the trailer wiring circuits as a way to know when the brakes are applied. All other standard brake controllers we offer will need to tap into the vehicle stoplight circuit.
It's actually the easiest to install controller we have. I attached an install video for it for you to check out as well.
