Question:
I have a 2007 Acura MDX. I plan to carry one or two bikes. What would you recommend? Both are adult sized mountain bikes.

To carry a pair of mountain bikes on your 2007 Acura MDX you have a couple options. The best one is going to be a hitch-mounted rack because they offer the most protection for your bikes, are easy to load and unload, and offer the ability to access your rear cargo area. Please keep in mind that you would not be able to install a hitch if your MDX has a full-sized spare tire under the vehicle, though a mini spare tire would allow a hitch to be installed.
If you are able to install a hitch, the two that fit are the Draw-Tite # 75614 and Curt # 13354. They are virtually identical in form and function, with the same capacity to easily carry a pair of bikes. I've attached a couple videos showing these hitches being installed so you can see the process for yourself.
As for the rack itself I recommend you look at the Kuat Transfer # KU74FR, It is a platform rack that uses ratcheting hooks to hold your bikes by the wheels; it also has pivoting cradles that the wheels rest in and straps that keeps them in place. The Transfer also folds up and can be tilted down with the bikes loaded.
