Race Ramp Lifts for 10K-lb Tandem Torsion Axle Trailer to Allow Tire Changing

Question:

Id like to find a set of ramps for my 31, AL, 10K pound, trailer that I can use to lift the dual axle trailer enough so that I can take a flat tire off, and replace it easily. I want to be able to either back the trailer onto the ramp, or pull the trailer forward onto the ramp so that the flat tire is hanging freely in the air. My axle are Dexter torsion axles, Im not sure how much drop they have in them when hanging in the air such as this. Id like a ramp that is long, so the angle isnt steep, and a ramp that has a deep hollow for the good tire to sit into securely when it reaches the park or lifted position. What do you recommend? Thanks.

Thank you for clearly explaining your intended use for the ramps you want for your 10K tandem torsion axle trailer.

The highest-rated ramps we offer have a 6000-lb capacity. All are shown on the linked page. These vary in width, length and lift. Since your entire trailer weight will NOT be on the ramps you could just get by with the 6K rating. In terms of an overall match to your requirements, the Race Ramps # RR-30 is the item closest to your description.

However, axle spacing can affect the lift you actually get at the bad tire. Usually tandem axle spacing is 33- to 35-inches on centers. Depending on axle spacing, tire diameter and the angle of your torsion spindles you may not end up with enough height for the flat tire to clear the ground when the good tire on the other axle is on the ramp.

The best item I can suggest for you is the Andersen Rapid Jack # AM3620. This has a 20K weight rating and provides 6-7/8-inches of lift. Please refer to the linked video.
