Availability of Sidewinder Pin Box to Replace a Lippert 1116 Pin Box

We have a few different pin box options that will allow you to pull your trailer with your 2017 Ram 1500 that has a 5-1/2 foot bed.
The Sidewinder options that are direct replacements for your Lippert 1116 pin box only currently come in a 16K Weight Capacity # RP61412. You will just need to verify what weight capacity is needed for your trailer (their should be a weight rating on your current 1116 pin box). This pin box incorporates the use of an enclosed air spring to help absorb shock and helps to provide a smooth ride.
Please keep in mind that if you have a sliding 5th wheel hitch it will need to be kept in the locked position. Also, there are some 5th wheel hitches that cannot be used with a Sidewinder pin box due to their design and there are other 5th wheel hitches that require a custom wedge be installed. I have attached a picture that shows which 5th wheel hitches cannot be used. If you are unsure whether or not you need a custom wedge just let me know what 5th wheel hitch you have and I can look into it for you.
