Draw-Tite and Curt Front Hitch Comparison for 2015 Ram 2500 Diesel

Question:

Hi I have a 2015 Ram 2500 Diesel truck and I want to get a front hitch receiver for it. I own a Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack that I want to use. I see lots of pros and cons for both the Draw Tite and the Curt front hitch receivers. And both seem to mount with varying degrees of difficulty or issues. I also read people complaining about the hardware bolts and nuts supplied, and that they had to go buy better bolts. Which of the 2 front hitch receivers would you recommend for MY purpose. Thanks

If your 2015 Ram 2500 diesel has factory tow hooks then you can use the Draw-Tite front-mount hitch # 65063. This hitch fits both 2WD and 4WD trucks. If you have a 4WD truck and do not have factory tow hooks then instead use the Curt model # C31015. Both the Draw-Tite # 65063 and Curt # C31015 have a 500-lb vertical load limit (akin to tongue weight).

I linked install videos for both hitches, along with their written instructions, that you can review to see if one install is more appealing to you than the other. The instructions also list the tools required for each hitch install. After reviewing the instructions I would say the Draw-Tite install would be my preference.

It is not uncommon for hitch hardware to appear to be too big. Even on fairly new vehicles like a 2015 the mounting holes can require a cleaning with a spray lubricant like PB Blaster or WD40 and a stiff-bristle brush to remove any traces or rust or grit. Usually that is all that is needed to get the included hardware to thread in properly.

Based on the installed positions of these hitches either one will be compatible with the Kuat NV # NV22G hitch-mount bike rack even when it is folded up in the storage position.
