Recommended Replacement Axle for 1973 Yarbrough Single Axle Trailer

Question:

I have a 73 Yarbrough single axle boat trailer, GAWR 2650#. It has an odd size replacement? axle. The axle is 2x3 and is straight. The spindles are about 1.25inch non-tapered and the seal looks to be about 1.5. After a recent trip, I noticed odd tire wear and when I jacked up the trailer, there was significant 12/6 oclock play. I pulled the tire and hub and the spindle looks terrible!! Very gouged up and rough. Not sure this will buff out My dimensions are 83inch hub face with a 71.25 spring center. I assume Ill need a 3500 axle. Can you help me with this process?

I do have a solution for you, but unfortunately we do not have any trailer axles with those dimensions.

What we do have, which is actually an upgrade from any regular axle, are our Timbren Rubber Spring Suspension systems. One of the best things about the Timbren option is that they are much easier to install than a standard axle, plus they provide extra ground clearance due to the design.

You can choose to get one with just a spindle, like part # ASR3500S05, with an idler hub, like part # A35RS545, or an electric drum brake assembly already installed, like part # A35RS545E. All 3 options that I mentioned are rated for 3,500 lbs and the 2 that come with hubs have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.

I have attached a link to our selection of Timbren Axle-Less Suspension to filter through should none of these options suite your situation.
