Expert Reply:
The combined load capacity for the tires on your 5th wheel trailer should exceed the loaded weight of the trailer. Many tire sizes will have a few different load range options to choose from. Going with a higher load range than what is actually needed will allow the tires to run a bit cooler, thus working to extend their lifespan. I recommend going with the highest load range available for the tire size you are needing.
Other than making sure to remain under the tire's load capacity, you should also always inflate trailer tires to their maximum psi rating as listed on the tire sidewall. An underinflated tire will essentially lower its load capacity and may result in tire failure. You should also take note of the maximum speed rating for the trailer tire. Unless otherwise indicated in the specs, trailer tires have a maximum speed rating of 65 mph.
I have also attached a few articles on trailer tires and wheels that you might find helpful.
