Recommended 3 Bike Rack for 2016 Jeep With Spare Tire

Question:

i have a 2016 jeep with 35 in tires the measurement from the center of the hitch pin to clear the spare is 12 1/2 inches looking for a 3 bike carrier what do you suggest.

I recommend going with the Hollywood Racks Road Runner 3 Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches # HR320. This bike rack fits Class III, 2 inch hitch receivers and features a 20 inch long shank that provides 15 inches of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar. This means that you will not need to use a hitch extender which reduces your hitch receiver Tongue Weight (TW) by 50%.

The Road Runner can fold up when not in use for rear clearance, and can also tilt when the bikes are unloaded for access to your rear cargo area. You might not be able to utilize the tilting feature if your door swings open though.

This bike rack also comes with bike and hitch locks to secure your bike rack to your 2016 Jeep, and your bikes to your bike rack. This will help to deter theft of your equipment when it is left unattended.

Keep in mind that if any of your bikes do not have a horizontal cross tube like a traditional men's bike has, an Adapter Bar, like part # HRBA-PRO, may be necessary to improve ground clearance and ensure that the bike is hanging level.
