The threaded part of Pollak Heavy-Duty Toggle Switch - SPST- On-Off - 12 Volt - 50 Amp - 1.5" Handle Item # PK34213 has an outer diameter of 0.43 inches which is slightly less than 7/16. So a 7/16 inch diameter hole would work will since the switch will be held in the hole with the included nut.
