Can I Replace the Hitch Lock Housing on My Yakima Deadlock Bike Lock and Get a Matching Lock Core?
Question:
Hello. Ive lost a piece of the dead lock for my yakima bike carrier. I dont need the entire assembly, just the little cap piece. I have lots of spare keys, the key is A133. Is it possible to buy just this piece, for this key? This comment box is not letting me attach a picture, but the piece Im talking about is maybe 3 inches long, has a keyed lock, has a hole for the pin to go through, and a little attached cap. In your photo of #8002411, its the black piece inside the circle of cable, not attached to the cable. Thank you.

Yes, you can replace the hitch lock housing on your Yakima DeadLock. The part you are looking for is the Yakima Replacement Hitch Lock Housing, # Y8820048. You will also need to purchase a replacement lock core to match your existing A133 keys, # Y8771-A133. To insert the Yakima SKS (Same Key System) lock core into the housing, you will need a Yakima Control Key, # Y8007835.
I recently added the Hitch Lock Housing, #Y8820048, to our website. It may take a day or two for the part to go live and be available for purchase.
