How to Charge 12V Battery in RV

Question:

Does my 12 volt line in the 7 way connector on tow vehicle keep the RV battery charged when line is connected to it ? This older 17 foot trailer had no battery on the tongue to run inside lights when parked away from the tow vehicle, only when hooked to vehicle. I has no converter. Thanks so much!

The 12V power that runs from the tow vehicle to your RV simply provides a maintenance charge which keeps your battery from depleting, but will not charge it.

To charge your battery you will need a charger like the CTEK MULTI US 7002 12-Volt Universal Battery Charger w/ Pulse Maintenance # CTEK56353 before and after traveling. This product has received great reviews from customers and from some of our etrailer employees as well!
