If your 2017 Ford 150 Sport has a 7-Way connector at the rear of the truck, the Pollak Adapter # PK12716 referenced in your question will work perfectly to convert it to a 4-way flat connector to hook up to your trailer. This will plug right into the 7-Way on the truck and no other installation steps are needed. It features a nice non-corrosive nylon shell and insert to prevent wear and damage from the elements.
