Which is Better For My Vehicles, The Thule Hitching Post Pro or the Reese Eclipse 4?
Question:
Im looking for a bike rake that can be used on a 1997 Rav4 or a 2015 Ford Taurus to hold 2-4 bikes - comparing Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway - 1-1/4inch and 2inch Hitches Item # TH934XTR and Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack for 2inch Hitches - Tilting Item # 63124 for $200 or less

In this case, I recommend going with the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH943XTR, over the DISCONTINUED Reese Eclipse 4 Bike Rack 63124.
The primary reason is the flexibility of the shank itself. The Hitching Post Pro can convert between 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, giving you the ability to use it on the available hitches for both of your vehicles.
Additionally, the added Anti-Sway cradles on the Hitching Post Pro allows you to keep your bikes steadier and have less chance of damaging them if you hit a rough patch on the road.
Finally, the ability to both fold and tilt away the Hitching Post Pro gives you the ability to access the back hatch and store the vehicle with the rack attached.
I recommend picking up the Snug-Tite hitch accessory, part # THSTL2 to improve the stability and security of the rig. I also strongly recommend the addition of a cable lock, like the 10' cable lock, part # e98891, to provide added security to your rack.
I've included a video of the Thule Hitching Post in action so you can better see its range of features.
