Solution for Cargo Melting in Cargo Carrier on 2013 BMW X3
Question:
Hi, I have a 2013 BMW X 3, just installed a Curt hitch and Curt Cargo carrier but my cargo has been melting and I have not even driven that far. What can I do to avoid this please? Thank you so much!

The best way to get the cargo out from in front of your exhaust is by adding rise to your hitch via an extension. The Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 will give you nearly four inches of lift so your cargo may not be directly in front of the exhaust of your 2013 BMW X3 anymore. Normally an extension would reduce the tongue weight capacity, but by using one that has a ball mount we can avoid that.
I've added a video review of this product for you to take a look at.
