What Circuit Does Brake Controller Stoplight Wire Run to on 2016 Toyota RAV4
Question:
I have a 2016 Rav4 SE AWD. I am going to be installing a trailer brake controller on it. I was able to get a schematic of the stop light wiring system for the car. I am wondering which would be the cold side of the switch, there are 2 wires on one connection, and only one on the other. My friend from work said I should connect it to the ground. Is this correct? Thanks

You want to connect the red wire of your brake controller to the circuit that sees voltage only when the brakes are applied. That would not be a circuit that runs to a ground.
Test the wires with a circuit tester if you are unsure like the part # 3808 and you'll find it that way.
