Trailer Hitch Adapter To Increase Ground Clearance For 2017 Honda Odyssey And Kuat NV Bike Rack
Question:
Have a 2017 Honda Odyssey with Hidden Hitch ... I also have a Kuat NV bike rack. The adjustment knob on the rack going into the hitch tube is getting busted up because when crossing a transition to a steep angle the rack drags on the ground. Will this or similar product eliminate this? Also ... would I need the 8inch or would a shorter version suffice I worry about the added length to the rack. Thanks

The Curt Dual 2" Receiver Tube Adapter, 8" Extension # D-192 will give you additional height to your bike rack. This will limit your hitch tongue weight to 50% of its original rating. This adapter also has a 350 lb combined rating, but you will be limited to the lesser of the ratings. This should solve the issue with your adjustment knob and still give you clearance. This is the shortest length adapter we carry that will give you that additional ground clearance to protect your adjuster knob on your Kuat NV # NV22G.
The Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs # D210 is an option that will also increase your bike ground clearance and will not reduce your hitch tongue weight capacity, however if you are concerned about 8 inches of length this will be longer. This ball mount will be 12-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin to the center of the hitch ball hole.
