Recommendation to Connect 7-Way on Trailer to 4-Way on 2016 Ford F-150

Question:

I have a motorcycle/ATV trailer it has a 7 pole round plug I need it to go a 2016 F150. The issue in having is the truck plug is a 4 flat plug, so I bought the 4 flat wire connector. But the the trailer will not flash the right turn signal and when I flash the left both flash like the hazards are on. When the head lights are on both light up but wont flash left or right. When the hazards are on the both blink like they should.. I followed the installation instructions but all I can think is the wire harness on the truck end is the issue. But when I reinstalled the 7 pole and connected to my 2001 f150 it works fine. Is there a harness I dont know about that I need on order for it to work on my 2016.

If you are only needing to power the trailer's signal lights (not electric brakes or any other function), you will just want to install an adapter like the Tow Ready # 30717. This will plug right into the factory 4-Way on your 2016 F-150 and provide a 7 pole round plug to connect to your trailer. This will allow all of the rear signal light functions on the trailer to work as they should in correspondence with your truck. The extra wires can simply be tied off.

I have included a short video review on this product that you can check out.
