Location of Factory Brake Controller Wiring Harness on a 2009 Toyota Tacoma TRD with Tow Package

Question:

i canot locate this plug on my 09 tacoma trd with seven pin tow package have both floor panels off head under dash with flashlight no plug ins compatible with the one in the glove box have felt the harnes and no bumps or bulges i am alomost ready to hard wire the controler in pls help

The factory brake controller wiring harness on your 2009 Toyota Tacoma will be in one of two places. First, since you already have removed the interior left most floor panel, you can check there for the connector. It is pretty well hidden behind other harnesses and it could have fallen back or down even further. You will need to fish around in there to pull it out.

If you cannot find it there, then check to the right or left of the steering column (near the emergency brake pedal) up under the dash. Again, the harness will be hiding so you will need to probe in this area to pull it out.
