Side to Side Distance Between Mounting Bracket Holes on the Topline Truck Bed Extender # BX4004-02

I have an unusual truck. Any experience with the BX4004-02 install on the tailgate of a 1965 Ford Ranchero? Tailgate is about 48 in width. Thanks,

The Topline Fold Down Truck Bed Extender, part # BX4004-02, is a universal-fit item, and will adjust to fit truck beds of differing widths. The bed extender when not extended and fully retracted measures 48 inches in overall width. You will need to check on your tailgate if you will have room to attach the mounting hardware.
I do not have any experience with it fitting on a 1965 Ford Ranchero, but to try and help you see if it will fit to your tailgate, I pulled the bed extender from the warehouse and measured where the holes are located on the mounting hardware.
The bed extender comes all assembled out of the box with the mounting hardware attached to the extender with the release pins. With the mounting brackets attached to the bed extender and the extender fully retracted, I measured from the center of the mounting holes on one bracket across to the center of the mounting hole on the other bracket. It measured 45-5/8 inches where the screws will attach the mounting brackets to your tailgate.
If you will check that measurement on your tailgate it should help you determine if the bed extender will attach and work on your Ford Ranchero.
