Adding a Motor to an Older Fulton Landing Gear Set

Question:

I have a 2003 Thor Tahoe Glidelite 21MP 5th wheel that has a manual crank landing gear system. Id like to retrofit a motor to the landing gear. The gear box says its a Fulton Performance Products, but I dont see a model #. Can you suggest a motor that would work for me?

We do not have any Fulton branded motors but my contact at Fulton said that if your Fulton landing gear set looks like the Bulldog Tandem Landing Gear Set # BD500162 then you can use a motor and switch kit from Stromberg Carlson, like part # LG-217884, because they are all pretty much made the same way.

If your Fulton landing gear set does not look like the previously mentioned Bulldog set then you will need to replace the landing gear as the older Fulton version is not compatible with a motor. If your current Fulton set has the weld stops measuring 17-1/2 inches outside to outside (see attached picture) then the Lippert Components # LC333964 will work great as a replacement. This set is rated for 6,000 lbs which is another thing that you will want to look at.
