Can the Strait-Line Weight Distribution # RP66075 be Used With a 2 inch WD Shank Instead of 2-1/2
Question:
Can a reese RP66075 be used with a 2inch shank? I realize the weight rating will be limited by the smaller shank but wondering if it will bolt up or if it is a different size. thanks

Yes, you could use a 2 inch Weight Distribution (WD) shank like part # RP54970 in place of a 2-1/2 inch WD shank like part # RP54976 as they will have the same 2 inch measurement where the WD head bolts to the shank (see attached picture).
You are also correct about the smaller WD shank size being the limiting factor when it comes to the weight capacity. As long as you are within the weight limit parameters of the Strait-Line WD System # RP66075 (TW 1,000 - 1,700 lbs) and the 2 inch WD Shank # RP54970 (Max TW 1,500 lbs) then it will work well for you.
