Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for 2012 Mercedes Benz ML350 with Factory Spoiler

Question:

Is this rack a good fit for our 2012 MB ML350, with the factory spoiler? We will be driving cross-country. Also, we have 2 bikes: one road bike and one commuter-style. I read that the 2 bike rack was too short...should we get the 3 style? How far does that one extend? Thank you!
