Adjustable Ball Mount Recommendation For Jeep Towing Boat Trailer
Question:
I am going to purchase a boat and the trailer measures 22inch to the top of the ball mount. What amount of do I need if the top of the hitch receiver on my jeep is 24 3/8 off the ground? Thank you for your attention to this request.

Thank you for the measurements you took of your trailer and your Jeep. The measurement of the trailer coupler should be taken from the bottom of the coupler to the ground. When measuring the Jeep receiver and the trailer coupler it should be done when they are both on level ground. I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to select the best coupler.
From the measurements you mentioned it sounds like you need a ball mount with about 5 inches of drop.
I recommend using an adjustable ball mount. An adjustable mount will have the versatility to let you tow different height trailers. I recommend part # C45900. This ball mount has a maximum rise of 5-1/4 inches and maximum drop of 6 inches. The adjustments can be made in 1 inch increments. This ball mount has a 2 inch ball and a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball.
