Best Method for Attaching Tail Lights to Aftermarket Flat Bed on 2008 Nissan Titan
Question:
I installed a used flatbed on my 08 Nissan Titan, and I want to use the oval tail lights #STL78RB. Is it possible to plug these lights into the exsisting wiring harness plug or do I have to splice each wire in individually. If each wire has to be spliced in, what is the best connector to use? Thanks for your help.

I do not have a source for a plug that would mate with the factory harness for your OEM tail lights. Your best bet will be to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and test the wires in the rear harness to determine their function. The black wire on the replacement taillight will attach to the running light circuit, and the red wire attaches to the turn signal/brake light circuit. Using quick splices like part # SWC502905-1 would be the simplest method of making your connections. If you go this route, I also recommend wrapping each connection in electrical tape or liquid electrical tape, part # SWC50122. The preferable method would be to solder the connections, and then using the tape or the liquid to protect the connections.
