For a tow bar wiring kit that will allow you to use your Jeep Patriot's signal lights, I recommend the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit with Bulbs # RM-155. This is a self-contained wiring kit confirmed to fit your Jeep that will bypass the vehicle's electrical system, eliminating concerns over violating the manufacturer's warranty. The kit will include all the required wiring, lights and sockets needed for installation.
I have attached an installation video on the 2014 Jeep Patriot that you can use for reference.
If you do not have them already, you will also need base plates, a tow bar, a safety cable set and a supplemental braking system to complete your flat towing setup.
Starting with the base plates, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ2 Base Plate Kit # 521441-1. This kit features removable draw bars with a nice, easy to use design. Keep in mind that this product will not fit models of your Jeep Patriot that have tow hooks.
Then for a tow bar, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 along with the Safety Cables # RM-643. This is a great tow bar with a self-aligning design that makes for simple and easy hookup. It has a 6,000 pound weight capacity.
For a supplemental braking system, I recommend the SMI Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # SM99243. This is a very nice proportional braking system that will use the air pressure from your RV's brakes to apply the brakes in your Patriot in the same manner. You will just need to add the relay # RM-88400 to prevent the Patriot's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
Lastly, you will likely need a high-low adapter to keep the tow bar level. I have attached an article that explains how to choose the right one, along with a link that will take you to our available selection. I have also included video demonstrations on the products mentioned and a couple of additional articles that you might find helpful.
