Will Reese Sway Control Bracket RP26003 and Ball Mount # C45336 Fit Hitch Ball # 40038
Question:
Spec sheets indicate that the C45336 has a 3/4 bar thickness, the RP 26003 is 3/8, a total of 1 1/8 inch. Some of the 2 in balls spec a max bar thickness of 1 inch. Will this ball 40038 fit this hitch combo or to I need one with a longer shank? I need a 2 inch ball.

Expert Reply:
The shank length of the hitch ball part # 40038 that you referenced is 2-1/4 inches long. That would easily be long enough to fit through the ball mount # C45336 and the Reese Sway-Control Bracket # RP26003. You will need a bushing part # 58184 though since the ball mount hole diameter is slightly larger.
