Way to Carry 4 Bikes with 2012 Mazda 5
Question:
Hi there. Id like a 4-bike carrier for our 2012 Mazda 5. This looked promising: TH934XTR What other accessories do I need to safely carry 4 bikes? I have no hitching-related equipment so far.

Expert Reply:
The only hitches for your 2012 Mazda 5 are Class I hitches which can only carry a max of 2 bikes at a time. This is because the hitch is lighter duty and can't handle the increased weight and leverage.
The most economical solution would be to get a 3 bike trunk rack and then use a roof rack bike rack to carry the fourth. For a 3 bike trunk rack we have the part # TH78VR as a confirmed fit that would work well. I've linked the page to all your options.
You'll have to install a roof rack like what is seen at the attached link below. You'll need to select your roof configuration from the drop down menu to see what you'd need. Then a bike rack like the part # TH599000 would be a great option as well.
