Curt Vertical Drawbar # D-55007 is a specialty ball mount made for a vertical hitch receiver that faces downward rather than sideways as with hitch # C11028. This is the only aftermarket hitch we offer for the 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata; it is a light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I type. The Curt ball mount # D-55007 is a Class II ball mount and can only be used in a Class II vertical hitch like C11713, C11746 and C11748. None of these hitches fits your 2006 Miata.
