Can a Sidewinder Pin Box be Used with a Curt 20K Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch

i am looking at the airborn sidewinder to put on my 5th wheel but I currently own a curt 20k slider as well. can I use both keep the curt in the towing postion when on the road and then use the slider option when I need extra extra room???

Sidewinder pin boxes such as # RP61412 are not compatible with the Curt 20K hitches. There isn't a wedge designed to fit those Curt hitches. I have an even better solution for you though. If the gross trailer weight is under 13,000 pounds then you can use the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 13,000 lbs - # DM8550040.

This hitch travels 22-1/2 inches and slides automatically. That 22-1/2 inches is longer than a Sidewinder by 1/2 inch.

Sidewinders can only be used with a slider if the slider stays locked in the towing position at all times. It can never be slid back. Otherwise there would be too much stress on the hitch causing damage.

If the 13K Demco hitch does not have enough capacity for your trailer then the best solution is to replace your Curt hitch with a fixed hitch such as # RP30928. Then you can use custom wedge # 30850 with the Sidewinder.
