Weight Distribution Drop Shank Recommendation to Allow Trailer To be Towed Level

Question:

My tow behind trailer 1968 Shasta Starflyte is sitting about 2inch to high at hitch while towing and I think something like this BX88129 hi-low adapter is what I need, but this says not for trailers? I have a weight distribution setup, so I need to a couple inches right from my truck, then the hitch for my weight dist setup. My trailer is listed at 2500lbs and a 308 lb tw. If the above adapter isnt right, would this work? RM-048-8 or RM-048-2? Everything says Do not use to tow a trailer though, so Im confused on what I can actually use safely

Expert Reply:

What you need is a weight distribution shank that allows more drop than what you currently have. A high low adapter is not the solution you need as it will not be designed for use with a trailer or weight distribution hitch.

Instead a shank like the part # C17124 would be what you need to allow the nose of your trailer to sit lower which will allow the trailer to tow level.
