Where to Install EGT Sensor on 2006 Chevy Kodiak 6.6 Duramax Diesel using the Edge Evolution CTS2
Question:
2006 Chevy Kodiak 6.6 Duramax in a 35 ft RV. Does the EGT probe to be used with the EDGE EP85400 CTS2 Programmer replace a factory probe? If not where/how to install? thanks much

Expert Reply:
The Edge Evolution CTS2 Programmer, part # EP85400, does not come with an EGT probe and it can only be used with Edge accessories. You will need the EGT Sensor for Evolution CS and CTS Programmers, part # EP98620, to be able to read the exhaust gas temperature on your 2006 Chevy Kodiak 6.6 Duramax Diesel with the Edge CTS2 programmer.
The 2006 6.6L Duramax Diesel will not have a factory EGT probe, so you will need to install the Edge EGT sensor # EP98620, on your exhaust manifold. Edge Products recommends that the EGT probe be placed in the exhaust manifold, in a pre-turbo location simply because the manifold location gives the best representation of combustion chamber temperatures. Other locations downstream in the exhaust system do not accurately represent combustion chamber temperatures.
