Recommended 4-Bike Hitch Rack for Use in 2-Inch Hitch
Question:
I have been looking at hitch bike rakes for 4 bikes including a childs and ladies bike. We have 2 inch hitch receivers on our jeep Cherokee and Chevy Silverado and was wondering if you could give any recommendations. I was looking to spend under $600.

We can help you find the right 4-bike carrier for the family's bikes that fits within your targeted budget.
Yakima offers their FullSwing 4 Bike Rack # Y02465 which holds 4 bikes and which can swing away from the vehicle even when fully loaded to give you full access to the Jeep's cargo area.
Among the best values in a 2-inch hitch rack with 4-bike capacity is Thule's Hitching Post Pro Folding/Tilting carrier # TH934XTR. This carrier tilts away from the vehicle for easier access to the rear cargo area/truck bed, it features strong steel/aluminum construction and it too is USA-made like the Vertex. You can add cable lock # e98891 to lock the bikes to the rack.
Hitch locks are not included with these carriers but can be added by using part # THSTL2 which will both stabilize either rack in the hitch and provide theft resistance.
If needed for the woman's bike and smaller child's bike adapter bar # UB01 allows easy installation on the rack arms. It simply connects between the seat and handlebar posts to provide a mounting surface to mate with the carrier arms.
The two linked articles on hitch racks will be of interest as you consider your preferences.
