Does Titan Disc Brake/BrakeRite Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit Require Welding On Flanges

Question:

I have a 2015 Forest River Roockwood 8289 WS and a 2012 Ford F-250 with factory brake control. Will the mounting plate for the calipers have to be welded on as was done on the installation on the Flagstaff video? I believe they have the same axle. The Ford F-250 brake control has an electric over hydraulic setting. Is this compatible with the T4843800 system? Thanks for your help.

As long as your Ford factory trailer brake controller has a setting for electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) brake operation it will work with the BrakeRite actuator included in the Titan Disc Brake Kit # T4843800. This kit is intended for trailers with tandem 3500-lb axles. Usually this operating mode can be selected from the controller's main menu screen.

Yes, the included caliper mounting flanges do need to be welded in place by a qualified welder who has the tools necessary to ensure these are installed perfectly concentric and straight, which is essential for proper brake operation.
