Question:
if i leave the trailer pluged in can it hurt the brakeaway battery

Expert Reply:
Using the Battery Charger # 20011, or any charger off of the tow vehicle's battery, will not cause any damage to your breakaway switch. The amount of charge will not charge the battery from dead to full but will maintain the charge.
In addition, if you leave the trailer plugged into the tow vehicle's connector for a long period of time it will continue to draw power from the vehicle's battery. In this case it is possible to drain the vehicle battery. To avoid the draining you can install a battery isolation solenoid # PK5231201 which makes it so the trailer's battery will not draw from the tow vehicle's if it isn't running.
