Replacement 4-Way Connector Recommendation for Trailer To Allow Ford Ranger to Tow it

Question:

Good afternoon. I have a 2004 Ford Ranger XLT, Extended Cab 4x4 w/ 4.0L V6 with no modular hitch.. I have a trailer with a 3-1 connector, 1 square port male recessed, 2 male open port recessed, 1 female extended, but I can rewire is necessary. The truck has its standard wiring, a flat rounded edge plug, 3female-1male, with an integrated weather cap. What would I need to purchase to make the trailer work? I have pics, if needed.

You are going to have to rewire the connector that's on your trailer. What you have is not a standard trailer wiring connector so going to a standard 4-way like the # HM48030 would make life much easier.
