Takonsha P2 Brake Controller Blew Fuse When Plugged Back in After Disconnected

Question:

Hi, I was very happy with how easy it was to set up my P2 brake controller in my 2014 Honda Pilot EX-L with the adapter wiring harness. I had it working perfectly. I unhooked the wires from the back of the brake controller to finish routing my wires so they look nice and dont hang down, but when I plugged ti back in, there was no power to the controller. I went to check the fuse and it was blown. Is this normal? Do I need to unhook the battery before unhooking the plug from the back of the controller?

Sounds like you may have a loose or bad ground somewhere in the trailer brake circuit. Go back and check all the plug-in connections. Make sure these connections are snug and not loose. If these check out to be ok, then make sure the ground on the brake controller is connected.

If every connection checks out and is connected, then you may have a draw on this circuit. Check to make sure you the correct amp fuse installed for the circuit.
