Recommendation for Transporting 2 Kayaks on 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon with Factory Roof Rack

Question:

The roof rack on my Subaru has two bars that rotate out from the bars that run in line with the length of the car, they pivot off one bar and lock into the other running across the roof, this I believe is standard.I have two 10 ft. long by 30 in. wide kayaks, would I be able to fit both using two sets of the JayLow Y04073/S510 roof racks? Weight is a combined 80lb.

The Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier # Y04073 referenced in your question will work great for transporting your kayaks as long as the factory crossbars on your Subaru Outback Wagon are not wider than 3-1/2 inches or taller than 1-11/16 inches. There should also be a minimum crossbar spread (distance between the two crossbars) of 24 inches.

You will have no issue mounting both of your kayaks with this system. You can actually safely secure both of your kayaks using just one of these systems, carrying the kayaks in a vertical position. I have attached a video demonstration so you can see this in action.

You will just need a second set of Tie Downs # Y05006 and Bow/Stern Tie Downs # Y04031 for your application.
