Compatibility of the Thule Motion XT L on a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

My 2012 has that rear antenna that sticks up 8 inches or so on a rearward angle. Will the Motion XT L fit over it?

To determine if the Thule Motion XT L Cargo Carrier, # TH629706, will fit a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, a couple measurements on your vehicle's roof will be needed.

First, the Thule Motion will only fit on a crossbar spread between 23-5/8 inches to 36-7/8. Any distance shorter or wider than this range, then the Motion cargo carrier will not fit. To measure crossbar spread. measure the distance from the center of one crossbar to the center of the other.

The second measurement needed to determine fit will be front clearance. This measurement is from the center of the front crossbar to the point where the roof meets the rear hatch of your Grand Cherokee. If this distance is 47-1/2 inches or less, then the Thule Motion cargo box will fit and work well on your vehicle. Reference the attached diagram for more information.
