Solution for Brake Controller that Won't Release Trailer Brakes Until you Tap it

Question:

I have a 2007 GMC Yukon SLT. The electronic brake system will not release when your foot comes off of the brake. It stays engaged until you tap the side of the brake pedal a few times. Once you touch the brake again the same thing happens

Sounds like your brake controller needs to be replaced. There must be an internal problem that is preventing the brake controller from releasing. Most likely it's a short that's not fixable.
