Replacement Reese Weight Distribution Shank # 17120 Recommendation
Question:
I have a reese 54970 shank will this #17120 work with my wds because I need 4 more inches of . I have a 2001 2500 chevy.

Reese weight distribution systems are designed to have Reese shanks used on them. For that reason the Curt Shank, part # 17120, that you referenced would not work.
Since you need 4 more inches of rise/drop out of your Reese weight distribution system I would recommend you get a Reese Weight Dist Shank, part # RP3215.
