Installing 4-Pole to 5-Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter on 2017 Ford Escape
Question:
I have just purchased a 2017 Ford Escape. It came with a factory class 2 towing package with a flat 4 connector. I purchased an adapter to make it a 5 flat and need to know where to connect the reverse wire. I cannot seem to find any online wiring diagrams. Any thoughts?

The blue wire on the Hopkins 4-Pole to 5-Pole Adapter # 47515 referenced in your question will be spliced into the reverse light wire on your 2017 Ford Escape.
To locate the reverse light wire on your vehicle, I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. The reverse light wire will typically be located at the back of the tail light assemblies. Have a buddy sit in the driver's seat, set the emergency brake and hold the brake pedal while the vehicle is in reverse. You will use the circuit tester to determine which wire is receiving power and this will be the reverse light wire.
Once located, you will use the included quick splice connector to attach the wires.
