What are the Dimensions of the Monitor in the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup System HM50002

Question:

I have two questions about the Hopkins Smart Hitch: 1 What are the dimensions width, height, and thickness of the video unit? I am wondering if it will fit above my rear view mirror of if I need to mount it off to the side. 2 Can the bottom edge of the piece behind the license plate be trimmed if necessary? I have a custom i.e., homemade bumper and the license plate barely fits vertically. Thank you in advance for any input that you can give me!

The dimensions of the video unit that comes with the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002 are 4-1/4 inches Wide, 2-3/4 inches High, and 3/4 inches Thick. If you add the base the Height is increased to 3-1/8 inches and the Thickness of the base at its widest point is 1-1/4 inches. I am attaching a few picture to demonstrate this, but keep in mind that when I took the measurements the monitor was standing in an upright position.

I do not advise modifying the license plate holder as it houses the wiring for the sensors and camera. If it didn't house those I would say go for it.
