How Do I Lower The Head On My Weight Distribution System

Question:

I just recently purchased a Ford F-150 with a factory installed tow package and a 2inch receiver. Im using this to tow a smaller 3,500 lb. travel trailer. The truck receiver though is a couple inches too high. Id like to keep using my existing Reese weight distribution, Draw-Tite anti-sway, and ball mount systems, but Im not sure what to buy to effectively lower the receiver. What shank, hitch / adapter, or other products do you recommend? Thanks a lot!

I have the perfect weight distribution shank that you will want in order to lower the head of your weight distribution system. You will need a weight distribution shank with longer shaft that will allow for more drop. For this, I recommend using the Reese Weight Dist Shank part # RP3215.

This shank is compatible with most round and trunnion bar weight distribution systems. It will allow you to lower the head of your weight distribution system up to 6-3/4" for round bars and 5-3/4" for trunnion bars. The length of the shank from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the shank is 11". You should have no issues using your existing anti-sway bar and ball mount with this shank.

I have included a video review of this shank for you.
