Powered Landing Gear Recommendation for Trailer Weighing 14,000 lbs

Question:

I have a 2009 Sierra 305rghs 14000 gvwr. The front electric Jack system I have in the unit is not big enough to lift the unit. I pull with a gooseneck ball hitch not a 5th wheel so I have to lift the gooseneck over the ball to hitch and unhitch. I want to put a bigger lift system in in. What do you recommend. I have taken the standard single motor system and added a motor to both jacks but now it is stripping the jacks out.

The Reese Powered Landing Gear part # RP500708 have a lifting capacity of 8,000 lbs which would work well for a trailer that weighs 14k total. The lifting capacity of the jack is for the pin weight. Pin weight is typically 25 percent of total trailer weight. So your trailer is going to have a 3,500 lb pin weight capacity which would be easy work for the 8k capacity of the jack.
