Will Reese Elite with Underbed Rails Fit in 2012 Ram 3500 with Air Bags

Question:

I have a 2012 Ram 3500 SRW with the 8 ft long box, crew cab and I need a fifth wheel hitch. I am considering the Reese hitch: Item # RP30142, and the under bed rail system: Item # RP30852. I have a few questions... My truck has an AIR LIFT 57295 LoadLifter 5000 Series Rear Air Spring Kit, so I would like to know if this mounting kit will work? Or do I need to go to an above bed rail system? Will I have to remove the Plastic bed liner? I see there are two under bed mounting systems, the RP30852 and the RP30074. Which is easier to install? Thank you for the assistance!

The Air Lift LoadLifter # AL57295 that's already installed into your 2012 Ram 3500 won't be an issue. The air springs install to the bottom of the frame.

The Underbed Rails # RP30852 is normally easier to install, although not by much. The # RP30074 requires the bolts to go through the frame which is a little more challenging than the u-shaped brackets of # RP30852. However, in your case I think the # RP30074 is probably a little easier because the air bags may make it more difficult to install the # RP30852.

Both install kits will work in your Ram and are great for the Reese M5 # RP30921.
