How is does the Camera on the Rear View Safety Wireless System Maintain Power
Question:
The camera battery, is it always on? How long will the battery last? What type of battery does it take? Looking at this unit for my fifth wheel. Any other info on this unit would be greatly appreciated thank you

Although the Rear View Safety Wireless Backup Camera System, # RVS-155W, uses a wireless video feed between the camera and the monitor, the camera must be hardwired to power the unit.
At the area where the camera will be mounted the unit is usually wired into the reverse lights so it will power up when the vehicle is put in reverse. Once powered up, the video feed is connected between the monitor and camera wirelessly. This system was designed this way to limit the amount of cable that would have needed to be installed between camera and monitor.
The attached diagram shows the connection options available for this system.
